Privacy Policy for the mobile app

What the TurfTech app for iPhone and Android collects, what stays on your device, which permissions it uses — and what it deliberately does not do.

In short

  • The app shows no advertising and does not track what you do in other apps and websites.
  • It collects no location, contacts, messages, calendar or photo library.
  • What stays on the device is there so the app works without signal, and it is erased when you sign out.
  • You choose whether your profile is public, limited to the club or private — and who can book a tee time on your behalf.
  • Account deletion is requested by email or through the pro shop, and processed within 15 days.

The summary guides the reading; the sections are what counts.

What this document covers

This policy applies to the TurfTech app for iPhone and Android — the player's app, with tee times, scorecard, handicap, tournaments and challenges.

The app is one of the doors into a larger platform. The data it displays belongs to your club and lives on the platform's servers, whose processing is described in the platform Privacy Policy — and the same division of roles applies there: the club is the controller of your member data and TurfTech is the processor.

( 03 )

Data the app handles

The app doesn't create a parallel record: it reads from and writes to the record your club already keeps. This is what passes through it:

CategoryDataWhat for
Sign-inTax ID or email and password, typed by you on the login screen. To confirm it's you and open your account. Your password is not stored on the device.
Your profileName, name on the card, photo, linked club, handicap index and federation number. To build the home screen, the scorecard and the player profile.
Your activityTee time bookings, tournament entries, cards posted, results, statistics, challenges and points. It is the content of the app: schedule, board, history and progress.
Privacy settingsHow visible your profile is, and booking permissions granted to other players. To apply your choice about who sees your name and who can book for you.
TechnicalApp version and whether a connection is available. To adapt the screen to offline mode and warn you when the app needs updating.

What stays on the device

The app is built for the course, where signal drops. That requires keeping some things on the device itself:

  • Confirmation that you're already signed in, so you don't have to type your password every time. It lives in the protected area of your device's operating system, which other apps cannot reach.
  • A copy of what you've already loaded — your profile, your schedule, your cards and tournaments — so the screen opens without waiting for the network and stays readable without signal.
  • Your screen preferences and a marker of the last update, so the app knows what it needs to fetch.

None of this is sent to third parties. Signing out erases all of it from the device. Uninstalling the app removes it too — what sits on the club's servers remains, and deleting that data is covered in section 09.

( 05 )

Device permissions

The app asks for little, and asks at the moment the feature is used — never up front, without context.

PermissionWhen it's asked forWhat for
Internet accessAlways on.To fetch your data from the club. Without it, the app only shows what was loaded before.
Home screen widgetWhen you add the widget. To show your next tee time and your handicap without opening the app.
Lock screen activity (iPhone)When you start following a round. To show the round's progress on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island.

The widget and the lock screen activity show content while the device is locked — anyone looking at the screen sees your starting time and your index. If you'd rather they didn't, remove the widget or don't start the round tracking; no other feature depends on it.

What the app doesn't do

It doesn't collect, use or transmit your location. It doesn't access your contacts, your messages, your calendar or your photo library. It shows no advertising, doesn't track what you do in other apps and websites, and builds no advertising profile. There is no sale of personal data.
( 06 )

Public profile and privacy

Golf is a sport of lists: a tee sheet, a tournament draw and a leaderboard only work because name and handicap are visible to the other participants. What you control is how far that reaches.

Public
Your profile can be seen by other players and by anyone opening your profile link.
Club only
Visibility is limited to players at your club.
Private
Your profile isn't shown to other players. You still appear on the lists you're actually on — a tee time booking and a tournament start list exist to be seen by the people playing with you.

The setting lives on your profile inside the app and takes effect immediately. You also choose which players can book a tee time on your behalf, and you can revoke that permission at any time.

( 07 )

Who we share it with, and for how long

The app sends data nowhere except the platform's servers. From there, sharing is as described in the platform policy: your club, other players to the extent of your privacy setting, your federation where you're a federated player, and the providers that operate the platform under contract. We don't sell personal data.

The retention periods are the same too: member records and playing history for as long as your relationship with the club lasts; sessions expiring after inactivity; access logs for the periods the law requires.

( 08 )

Security

  • All communication between the app and the servers travels encrypted.
  • Confirmation of your sign-in lives in the protected area of the device's operating system, not in an ordinary app file.
  • The session expires on its own. Changing your password immediately drops open sessions on any device.
  • Repeated attempts to sign in with the wrong password are temporarily blocked.
  • Signing out erases everything the app had stored on the device.
( 09 )

Deleting your account

To request deletion of your account and the data attached to it, send the request to privacidade@turftech.com.br or speak to your club's pro shop. The request is confirmed and processed within 15 days.

What is deleted and what remains

  • Deleted: your sign-in, your profile, your photo, your preferences and any open sessions.
  • Retained, disconnected from your identity wherever possible: official results of tournaments already played and the records the club must keep by law or by its own rules. An official result cannot be rewritten after the fact — and the other participants' handicaps depend on it.
  • Access logs follow the legal retention periods and are erased afterwards.

Uninstalling the app erases only what is on the device. Deleting the data on the server requires the request above.

Accounts for under-18s

Golf has junior categories, and the app is used by members under 18. Those accounts are created and maintained by the club, with specific consent from at least one parent or legal guardian, under article 14 of the LGPD. We handle that data only for the sporting purposes described here, and never for advertising. Parents and guardians can exercise the rights in section 11 through the club's pro shop.

( 11 )

Your rights and contact

You can confirm what data we handle, access it, correct it, request portability, anonymisation or deletion, withdraw consent and find out who we share it with — the rights in article 18 of the LGPD, set out in section 09 of the platform policy.
